The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. I love summer and so a holiday in the middle of the summer with barbecues, fireworks, and some sort of water games (in my family anyway) is always a good time. We live in an amazing country and I am grateful to call the USA home. This year it has been so hot, and so instead of thinking about food I have been thinking about beverages. For some reason lemonade just sounds really refreshing.
This recipe is a fruity twist on lemonade with a little ‘sparkle’. It is super easy and fun for a festive holiday beverage!
The base of this lemonade is Izze – which is a sparkling juice beverage. I like Izze because of the ingredients (and it tastes amazing): Pure juice made from White grape, apple and blueberry juice, sparkling water, citric acid, red grape juice, concentrate, natural flavor.
This lemonade is super simple. Combine:
- 24 oz Izze
- Juice of 6 lemons
- 1 cup water
- Sweetener of choice to taste (optional)
- Fresh Blueberries
- Ice
The Izze gives it a sparkle and a yummy blueberry flavor. We didn’t add much sweetener and ours was pretty tart, but my 4 year old drank 2 tall glasses! I guess it helps that it is 100 degrees outside. You could switch it up and do any berry flavor and it would be delicious! Happy 4th of July!!
