The Journey Is The Reward

One common error we all make, which has serious consequences as we grow older, is the belief that failure is the opposite of success. Intellectually, we know better, but emotionally we often fail to act on what we know to be true when it comes to ourselves.

Failing has become critical in my growth as a man. They say hard work pays off, but sometimes the work doesn’t pay at all. The truth is… you usually have to fail to succeed. No one emerges at the top, and even those that are born lucky eventually get a turn on the wheel of misfortune. Anyone with a resume of accomplishments also has a resume of failures, humiliations and setbacks. So everyone has a fear of failure but to fail is human, but it’s about how fast we get back up, learn from it, and move forward.

I truly believe we learn more about tomorrow because of what we did today. This goes for coaching, relationships, leadership, and just life. The scariest thing is being unaware of what is going to happen tomorrow. But putting faith in God and continuing to glorify him everyday, good things will happen.

It’s very simple: God gave us two ears, a pair of legs and arms, and one mouth for a reason. We need to listen, learn, and work more than we talk. Good coaches work and great men listen and learn.

Remember this…

Success always occurs in private and failure is always in full view. The journey is always a reward, it all depends on how bad you want it and what you’re willing to do to get that reward and keep it.
