How Much Muscle Can You Gain Naturally?

As a strength training newbie, if you do everything right you can gain twenty to thirty pounds of muscle in your first year of proper training. Thirty would be high and require some decent genetics but I’ve seen it happen. Gaining much more than that is going to be damn near impossible.
